Schumann: Symphonies Nos. 1 & 3 // Philippe Herreweghe

La Orquesta Sinfónica de Amberes y Philippe Herreweghe mantienen una estrecha relación desde 1997, y el director de Gante dirige y graba regularmente con la orquesta de Flandes. Tras las Sinfonías Segunda y Cuarta (LPH032), prosiguen su exploración de las sinfonías de Schumann: "La sinfonía me ha dado muchas horas de alegría. A menudo doy gracias al espíritu benéfico que me permitió completar una obra tan importante con tanta facilidad y en tan poco tiempo", dijo el atormentado compositor. Escribió su primera sinfonía, "Primavera", en sólo cuatro días y la orquesta en tres semanas. La tercera, conocida como "Renana", se inspiró en un día que Schumann pasó con su esposa Clara en Renania.

The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Philippe Herreweghe have enjoyed a close relationship since 1997, and the Ghent conductor regularly conducts and records with the Flanders orchestra. After the Second and Fourth Symphonies (LPH032), they are continuing their exploration of Schumann's symphonies: "The symphony has given me many hours of joy. I often give thanks to the beneficent spirit that enabled me to complete such an important work so easily and in such a short time" says the tormented composer. He wrote his first symphony, "Spring", in just four days and orchestrated it in three weeks. The third, known as the "Rhenish", was inspired by a day Schumann spent with his wife Clara in the Rhineland.

Depuis 1997, l'Orchestre symphonique d'Anvers et Philippe Herreweghe entretiennent une relation intime et le chef gantois dirige et enregistre avec l’orchestre des Flandres très régulièrement. Après la deuxième et la quatrième symphonie (LPH032) , ils poursuivent leur exploration des symphonies de Schumann : « La symphonie m’a valu beaucoup d’heures de joie. Je rends souvent grâce à l’esprit bienfaisant qui m’a permis d’achever si facilement et en si peu de temps une œuvre d’une telle importance. », dit le compositeur tourmenté. Il écrit sa première symphonie « Le Printemps » en quatre jours à peine et l’orchestre en trois semaines. La troisième dite « Rhénane » fut inspirée par une journée que Schumann passa avec sa femme Clara en Rhénanie.
